I adore the sensation that washes over me just before I slip into sleep. This phenomenon is scientifically known as hypnagogia. As the sun sets and bedtime arrives, my mind and body grow weary. I climb into bed, rest my head on the pillow, and gently close my eyes. Before I realize it, I have drifted off to sleep. I'm never quite aware of the precise moment when sleep takes hold, not until I awaken once more. Yet, I can sense myself descending into sleep, and for a fleeting instant, I am transported to what feels like another realm.

There are whispers that hypnagogia holds the potential for spiritual growth or even magic. While I haven't delved into the study of hypnagogia, I find myself intrigued with this liminal space—a moment suspended in-between. During these junctures, when wakefulness blends with sleep, I try to understand the mild hallucinations that arise. I wonder, what lies within this realm? How can I explore it further or gain a deeper understanding? Might it offer a chance to transcend into alternative dimensions or worlds?

These interludes of in-betweenness present magical opportunities to glimpse into the cracks of my inner world—an intangible realm that escapes me in my day to day world.
