PARTS
Throughout my life, I've held onto certain aspects of myself, convinced they were the true essence of who I am. Yet, time and again, I've found myself easily swayed into embracing yet another idea of my identity. It has become clear to me that I am constantly evolving, much like a colorful chameleon in an ever-changing environment. As humans, we are intricate beings, not meant to be confined to a single box. However, we often put on a facade, donning our best clothes and biggest smiles, as we venture into the world with a specific identity we've chosen to portray.
This realization has led me to embrace the idea of radical self acceptance — embracing the multitude of parts that make up our identity. We are not one-dimensional, but a tapestry of diverse traits, interests, and passions. This perspective grants us the freedom to explore different facets of ourselves without judgment, guilt, or the pressure to conform.
In a society that often pressures us to fit into predefined molds, honoring our complexity becomes an act of self-love and authenticity. It allows us to appreciate and celebrate the various roles we play and the diverse aspects that make us unique individuals.
While it's true that we may present different versions of ourselves in different situations, understanding that this is a natural response to social dynamics fosters empathy and compassion for both ourselves and others. Each person is on their own journey of self-discovery, navigating the complexities of life.

Fragments #3 - 8in x 10in, acrylic on stitched canvas.
Embracing this kaleidoscope of identity can lead to a deeper understanding of ourselves and more meaningful connections with others. By accepting our ever-changing nature, we liberate ourselves from the confines of societal expectations and embrace the freedom to grow and evolve.
As I continue on my journey, I will cherish the diversity within myself, allowing it to foster self-awareness and a profound appreciation for the intricate tapestry of human existence.
Each of these painting were inspired by a part of another painting, building off one another as a symbolic representation of the PARTS of our identity.
