Jes Moran is a Colorado-based artist and the founder of JES, a studio practice centered around color, pattern, material, and joy.
Her fine-art practice is exhibited through galleries and collections, with a focus on textile painting, and ceramics. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout Colorado and is held in public and private collections such as the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. She has been featured in CREATE Magazine, DARIA, and interviewed on the Tenet Podcast.
Her textile paintings begin with acrylic stain painting on raw canvas, which she cuts, sews, and reconstructs into new compositions. Her ceramic work is similarly hands-on, with a focus on shape, texture, function, and the marks that come from making something by hand.
JES brings all of this work together through small-batch collections and one-of-a-kind pieces. Everything is made by hand in her home studio in Colorado, in limited quantities and seasonal releases.
Each piece is made by hand, so no two are exactly alike. The little variations, imperfections, and marks are part of what make them special.
